Yvonne
Sydnor is recognized as leader and motivator by everyone she comes in contact
with. It is her profound honor to be the President of the Long Island Center for
Business & Professional Women.
Yvonne is a Citigroup Information Technology Senior Vice President in charge of
Citigroup Global Conferencing Technology Operations. Her responsibilities
include strategic business planning, product/service pricing, financial
planning, marketing and technology to provide conferencing services to the entire
corporation.
In 1994 Yvonne decided that she wanted to work in her fields of study, and left
to pursue opportunities as a consultant. As fate would have it, 1994 was a
fortuitous point of growth for both Yvonne and the LI Center. Yvonne was
enjoying her leap into a new career path, and the Center was at a great point of
growth in membership and desperately needed to upgrade from its’ one word
processor to a networked computer environment. One of Yvonne’s college
professors was Vice President of Membership of the LI Center Board and remembered her from class. She called Yvonne up and asked her if she could
help the Center upgrade from a single word processor to three networked
computers. Yvonne volunteered her services and single handedly configured the office computer network, designed a database to automate
the day to day office operations, and trained the office staff.
Whenever possible, Yvonne takes time out of her busy professional schedule to
volunteer services for community organizations and charities. She loves helping
people, and devotes as much of her free time as she can to do so. She is also
the Pastor of her church.
Yvonne has received many awards lauding her achievements, recognition by
President Bush for voluntary service, recognition by President Carter for her
Military Service, Citigroup Star Award, Citigroup Y2K Award, LI Center Award for
Recognition of Outstanding Voluntary Services, and was also a finalist in the
Long Island Center & ListNet Women in Technology 1st Annual Diamond Awards
Event.
Yvonne thanks God for her wonderful brothers, friends and colleagues and all of
the love, encouragement, help and support that they have given through-out the
years, and would like everyone to know she will always remember the kindness
they have shown.
