Rosemarie
J. Walton joined the Long Island Center for Business &
Professional Women seeking to align her professional
career and formal education in a way that complimented
one another and her life changed in a way she never
expected - she landed the position of Executive Director
of the Long Island Center for Business & Professional
Women. She started in her new role in August 2006.
Rosemarie began effecting change right away, drawing
from her years of experience as full-time Church
Secretary and Office Manager for Hope Missionary Baptist
Church, a 1,500 member church with 26 ministries.
Rosemarie has an extensive background in computer
software applications, management, executive assistance,
payroll administration and is proficient in planning and
overseeing administrative support for a senior
leadership team. Her experience managing, implementing
and enforcing office policies and
procedures, fiscal management and setting workflow
priorities and standards are just a few of the reasons
that she was selected to be the Executive Director.
Rosemarie graduated Cum Laude from Nassau Community
College with a degree in Business Administration. She is
a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society,
serves on the Advisory Board of the Advocacy Center for
Youth & Families/Parent Resource Center, the Islip Town
Branch of the NAACP, and the M.A.P. Memorial Scholarship
Fund Committee of Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She is
also active in youth programs sponsored by her local
civic council. Rosemarie is currently enrolled in
Dowling College, majoring in Business Management and is
on the Dean’s List. Rosemarie is an accomplished
vocalist and has performed with the Long Island
Philharmonic, and onstage in choral societies at C. W.
Post Tilles Center and Stony Brook
University Staller Center for the Arts. One of her most
memorable musical opportunities was performing onstage
with Martin Luther King III, the son of the late Rev.
Dr. Martin Luther King. She is also a member of the
