The first Long Island Center for Business & Professional Women Achievers' Awards Dinner Gala was held in 1977. The inaugural celebration honored 16 distinguished women in all fields of endeavor. Throughout the LI Center's history, we have been privileged to enjoy an exceptionally high level of commitment and achievement among our members and the women of achievement honored.
An Achiever is a trendsetter, a leader, and a mentor. She is a humanitarian and has used her professional knowledge and personal insight to make a difference for others. She is innovative, proactive and leads by example. An Achiever has opened doors for other women and has fostered their rise in business, the professions, and the community. An Achiever is a woman that has risen to the top and gained the esteem and admiration of both those who have influenced her and those whom she influences.
The Long Island Center's Achievers' combined work and dedication add special meaning to the Achievers' Awards. The honor is reserved for those identified as having truly made a difference.
