Maureen H. Leslie is Assistant Director for Off-Campus Programs for Adelphi University. She is responsible for providing professional support and advisement to the Associate Provost on recruitment opportunities for the Bachelor and Masters’ Degrees for off-campus programs for the university. Maureen develops and supports partnerships, both corporate and educational, through active membership in organizations that focus on economic development on Long Island. She was instrumental in the formation of an exclusive partnership between Adelphi University and the Huntington Chamber of Commerce to offer courses leading to an MBA Degree in Management. Its success has laid the foundation for the establishment of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business for adults slated to begin in 2007. In addition, Maureen builds business relationships with alumni and encourages them to develop internship opportunities for the students and become guest lecturers. She interfaces with the Long Island business community and maintains alliances with the local school districts and area colleges. Maureen is a member of Adelphi’s Internal Advisory Council.

Prior to joining Adelphi University, Maureen was the Interim Executive Director of The Long Island Center for Business & Professional Women where she managed the daily operations of the organization, planned, organized and implemented networking dinners and advanced the organization through community outreach. Maureen holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree cum laude from Molloy College where she also worked as Director of Alumni Relations and completed Human Resource Management and Leadership Management seminars at the C.W. Post campus of Long Island University.

Active in the community, Maureen serves on the Board of Directors of The Long Island Center for Business & Professional Women, WEDLI (Women Economic Developers of Long Island), and the Huntington Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Young Professionals Chamber of Commerce where she mentors high school and college students. She actively participates on committees to promote The Long Island Fund for Women & Girls, the Girl Scouts of Nassau County, National Association of Mother’s Centers Corporate Committee, Long Island Works Workforce Builders Corporate Committee and Long Island Works Industries Initiatives Committee. Maureen is also a member of the Chamber’s Education and Training Committee and maintains membership in the Society of Human Resource Professionals and the Executive Women’s Golf Association. She maintains active membership in Delta Epsilon Sigma, Delta Epsilon Pi, Lamba Pi Eta, Phi Delta Kappa International, and the American Association of University Women. Maureen has been accepted for inclusion in Who’s Who in America and most recently Who’s Who in American Education.
