Debra Timms is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of New York and has been with Kessler & Liscia, CPA’s, P.C. since February of 2005. Working primarily in the firm’s tax and business advisory practice, Debra assists her clients with tax compliance, planning and consulting issues. Debra has also been active in performing audits, reviews and compilations for both tax-exempt and for profit entities.  Debra has worked extensively with her  clients, providing them with such services as:
  

 
 
  • Active in performing audits, reviews and compilations for small businesses and not-for-profit entities

  • Internal control reviews and cost allocation methodology

  • Integration of systems utilized in small businesses Quickbooks® consulting, training, setup and troubleshooting assistance

  • Preparation of personal, corporate, partnership, not-for-profit, and trust tax returns

  • Tax research and tax compliance assistance, including entity organization

  • Representation of IRS and insurance audits

  • Assistance with payroll and sales tax issues and compliance 

 
 

Prior to joining Kessler & Liscia, PC, Debra worked at a small accounting firm on Long Island in public accounting principally working in the area of tax and business advisory services, after graduating magna cum laude from Dowling College with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting. 

Debra is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.  Debra serves as the Treasurer for the Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women, where she is also a member of the membership committee and past chairperson of the golf outing.  Whenever possible, Debra gives her time and services to other not-for-profit organizations on Long Island.
